UNDERWATER HUNTING TECHNIQUE |
|
When hunting underwater, there are some basic things to consider. First you must specialize in one species of fish or crustacean. If you go diving to go after any fish that comes along, you may have some fish to eat, but not the good fish and probably not anything big. Try to concentrate on one fish, such as the Jack Fish (Talakitok) or Dogtooth Tuna. Learn about their habits, their type of surroundings that they like to have and how to be among them without chasing them away.

Extend your safety stop. The nitrogen you breathe out at 15 feet/ 5 Meteres significantly reduces your bubble risk in the final ascent and the climb onto the boat.
Be sure you're neutral before you leave the safety stop. You should sink when you exhale.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE |

Many diving accidents occur between the surface and the bench at your gear station. Some dangers are pretty obvious-banging your head on the swim platform, falling on the ladder and stumbling on the deck. But there's more bubble trouble ahead, too. Vigorous exercise at the end of your dive can cause bubbles to form and grow and increase your risk of DCS.
